Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH) Agriculture plays an important role in country´s economy, contributing around 7% to GDP.
Around 60% of the population live in rural areas, 20% of the total workforce is employed in agriculture. There is 58% of cereals, 26% of forage crops, 14% vegetable and 2% industrial crops grown on cultivated land in BH.
Corn is the main crop from cereals. Unfortunately the yields of domestic cereals production is not sufficient to meet the domestic needs. The quality of forage crops is quite low. Orchards and vineyards suffered enormous damage during the last war and are currently in revitalisation. Agriculture in BH has a lot of potential for future development.
Sarajevo and Mostar are very attractive destinations for visitors and destination can be easily combined with Croatia and Montenegro.
