Denmark

Danish agriculture is among the most efficient and knowledge based agricultural clusters in the world. One reason is that the smaller country with only 6 million inhabitants has a need to export and the combination of good agricultural soil, internal competition and high level on education has made this possible. The agricultural cluster stands for 25% of the export and more than 61% of the land is cultivated. Most Danish farm and food companies are cooperatives, owned by the farmers.

The landscape offers a flat land with rolling hills, charming towns, many with cross timbered brick houses and good local food. The vibrant capital Copenhagen is a natural beginning or end of a tour in Denmark - and a good start to combine with one ore more of the Nordic countries.
